I was more focused on being part of the protest than documenting it (and of not walking my bike into anyone while I shot one-handed with my camera phone), but I wanted to share these snapshots from Tuesday in Chicago and to make my strong support known for the Black Lives Matter movement, for justice for George Floyd, justice for Breonna Taylor, justice for Ahmaud Arbery, and for equality and justice for every Black woman and man living in this nation, which is so rooted in systemic and overt racism. My eyes are open, my ears are open, and I’m figuring out ways to educate myself and to be a better part of the solution (such as only working with brands that align themselves with these values). One thing is for sure– I will not be silent. BLACK LIVES MATTER.
Husband and wife design duo Jake and Brooke definitely win the playroom shelfie award (I’m sure their kids agree!). Check out the rest of their Northside Chicago home over here
This light-filled Lincoln Park space photographed for Gillman Group is the definition of “kitchen goals,” don’t you think?
Luckily I’m very slow at posting new projects to this blog, so I still have a few more recent pre-quarantine projects to share! This one was shot for interior stylist Chris Free in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood:
So glad I had the opportunity to work with the architects of Searl Lamaster Howe on another of their recent projects, shot a few weeks before the world tipped upside down! This project was shot on the 58th floor of Water Tower Place, and I’m also including a snapshot of the view because I just couldn’t resist…
A little different than my usual work, but it’s been cool seeing my photography in some recent editions of The New York Times. Below, the February 16th Sunday edition and this Monday’s February 24th edition:
A true labor of love, the owner of this contemporary Silver Lake home spent three years designing and building this serene retreat in the hills. It was a pleasure to photograph this vision come to life!
Sort of obsessed with this West Hollywood house and designer Jessi Eve’s super fresh styling. A small look below—the full tour will be coming out soon in Australian design magazine Adore Home!
Hello from Echo Park, Los Angeles, where I shot this sweet little vintage hideaway today:
